What is DEXPIRY?
DEXPIRY is a system that uses distributed ledger technology (DLT) to digitally record and reliably track the statuses of statutory and commercial warranties for products, with a focus on user security and privacy.
The DEXPIRY system optimizes the user experience in verifying, tracking, and exercising warranty rights by storing information about the purchase of individual products on a publicly available blockchain in the form of DEXPIRY warranty tokens.
DEXPIRY warranty tokens are digital confirmations of a warranty linked to a specific product or service. Technically speaking, they are ERC-721 non-fungible tokens (NFTs) that are associated with a digital invoice at the time of purchase and are assigned a unique identification number (Token ID) as a blockchain record. In addition to the Token ID, DEXPIRY tokens contain a record of the seller’s digital signature, the time of purchase, and the duration of the statutory or commercial warranty for the respective product.
Other relevant information about products for which a warranty has been issued is available in the DEXPIRY system’s database. Access to this information is possible exclusively through the DEXPIRY application and depends on the user’s authorization level.
The DEXPIRY application is the user interface of the DEXPIRY system, which-depending on the authorization level-allows users to easily issue and confirm warranties, track their status, and transfer warranty rights for individual products via DEXPIRY warranty tokens.
Depending on the authorization level, the user can access detailed information (stored on the blockchain and in the DEXPIRY database) related to an individual DEXPIRY token through its unique Token ID within the application.
Warranty rights for a specific product are confirmed by a fast cryptographic verification of the DEXPIRY token within the application, and they can be just as easily transferred between users.

In addition to DEXPIRY-tokenized warranties, you can also store other warranties for which you have paper documentation. Simply photograph your receipt to add all your active warranties and track them the same way as DEXPIRY warranties. The app also notifies you before a warranty expires and allows you to easily transfer a warranty to another user when reselling a product.
If you are a retailer, you can integrate DEXPIRY into your existing ERP/POS system, where DEXPIRY-tokenized warranties automatically link to your digital receipts. You can then manage warranties effortlessly, use them for meta-analysis, or engage in post-purchase interaction (in-app marketing). Within the application, you can also communicate with service centers and customers regarding individual warranty claims.
