# Certification

DEXPIRY tokens can be used as digital certificates proving the authenticity, ownership or service history of a product. Each certificate would be represented as a non-fungible token (NFT) linked to a unique product - including information about the manufacturer, date of manufacture, services, calibrations and quality checks. Since the data is immutable and transparent, anyone could verify the authenticity of the certificate in real time without having to contact a third party, which is ideal for industries such as medical equipment, luxury goods or used electronics.

Academic institutions could also issue diplomas and certificates in the form of DEXPIRY tokens, guaranteeing their authenticity, durability and immutability. Each token would represent a unique academic certificate - with information about the holder, institution, programme, date and achievements. Through smart contracts, it would be possible to automatically check the validity and ownership of certificates, without having to contact the faculty or archives. This would allow for faster validation when hiring, enrolling in further education or internationally recognising qualifications.
